Hunter Hanning grew up in Northern Maine, where logging and farming weren’t just occupations — they were a way of life. Raised around his father and uncles who worked in the woods and ran potato farms, Hunter developed a hands-on work ethic early and a natural instinct for how things get built. That upbringing laid the foundation for a construction career that spans over a decade of real field experience.

Before co-founding CLT Pros, Hunter cut his teeth in utilities with RJ Grondin & Sons, laying pipe and learning the technical side of site work from the ground up. After relocating to Charlotte, he joined NEP, where he worked his way up to foreman — overseeing grading and utility projects across the region. That progression from laborer to crew leader gave him the hands-on skills, leadership experience, and project management knowledge that now drive every CLT Pros job.

Today, Hunter oversees field operations, equipment, estimating, and day-to-day project execution. He’s licensed to operate all types of heavy equipment and brings direct involvement to every project — not just oversight from a distance. His goal for every homeowner is simple: finish the job in a way that makes them feel like they found a contractor they can trust for everything that comes next.

Tyler O’Brien came to construction through a combination of curiosity, competitive drive, and real-world pivots that shaped him into a well-rounded business leader. His first exposure to the trades came through a summer remodeling houses — a job he took to understand what really goes into building a home. That summer introduced him to Hunter Hanning, and the partnership that would eventually become CLT Pros.

Tyler went on to play semi-pro lacrosse in Canada before COVID brought that chapter to a close. He reached back out to Hunter, landed a position with NEP in commercial construction, and spent two years operating heavy equipment and developing a deep working knowledge of grading and large-scale site work. He followed that with three years in sales across smart home solutions, home renovation, and wine distribution — roles that sharpened his client communication and business instincts before he made the decision to build something of his own.

At CLT Pros, Tyler operates across both the field and the back office. On job sites he’s hands-on — grading, operating machinery, doing the physical work alongside the crew. Behind the scenes, he manages finances, marketing, and overall business strategy. His standard for every project: clear communication, a smooth process, and a finished result the homeowner is proud to recommend to their neighbors.
